Cookie Policy
Not yet published — a description of current behaviour, not a policy.
The final wording of this policy has not been published. What follows describes how the site works today, so the page is useful in the meantime. It is not a legal document and creates no obligation on either side.
If something here affects you, send us a request — no account needed — or email hello@wrestlelink.com.
How the site behaves today
- Now A strictly necessary sign-in session cookie, set only once you sign in.
- Now IWE's own analytics are cookie-less and store no IP addresses.
- Now No Google Analytics 4 or Meta Pixel is loaded. The consent banner exists in the code but stays hidden while tracking is switched off.
- Now Pages showing an embedded YouTube or Vimeo video load it from Google or Vimeo, which can set their own cookies. This happens before any consent choice and is the one third-party cookie source on the site today.
- Planned Consent gating for the YouTube and Vimeo embeds, so no third-party cookie is set until you allow it.
- Planned The cookie banner becoming active, if and when analytics or advertising tags are ever added.
Still to be decided
Shown here rather than hidden in a backlog — these are the open questions this page cannot answer yet.
- Whether to gate the video embeds behind consent or replace them with click-to-load previews. Both stop the third-party cookie; the second keeps the page usable with no consent step at all.
- Whether Google Analytics or Meta Pixel will ever be added. If not, the dormant consent code should be removed rather than left implying they exist.
